For the second consecutive year the city ultra-marathon "Hardrun" dedicated to the Fatherland's Defender Day is held in Krasnodar. The participants compete at four distances – 5, 10, 25 and 50 km.
"The races that take place in our city are a wonderful project. They help to development mass sports. Krasnodar is gaining popularity as an athletic and "running" city. The race participants come to us from all over the country. In addition, we have an interesting route that runs along the main street of the city, in its historical center. Today's race is also a great sporting event. And although it's cool in the street, our mood and atmosphere are great," said Evgeny Pervyshov.
Ultra-marathon is organized by a network of sports stores "Vysshaya Liga" with the support of the administration of Krasnodar. By tradition, all comers could take part in the race. For this purpose it was necessary to register first. The receipt of applications was opened in the middle of December.
As the organizers told, about 1000 people - amateurs and professionals take part in mass starts. Among them are residents of Krasnodar and other cities of Krasnodar Region (Anapa, Sochi, Novorossiysk, etc.), as well as many cities of the country. Including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tyumen.
Runners at two distances - 5 and 50 km started from the Theatre Square first, then those who run for the distances of 10 km and 25 km. The Mayor of Krasnodar ran in the first group. Deputy Mayors Artem Voronin, Sergey Luzinov and head of the city Department for Physical Culture and Sports Anatoly Miroshnikov also ran the distance of 5 km.
The main route of the race is laid along the central street of the city - the Krasnaya Street. After the start participants moved to the beginning of the Krasnaya Street. There they took a bend and ran back to the Theatre Square. The length of the lap is 5 km.
All the participants received a starting number and bandana. The refereeing was carried out with the help of the Dutch timekeeping system MyLaps allowing to send the results to the participants within an hour after the race.
The finish line was also on the Theatre Square. Here all runners were handed finish medal of race.
A charity relay was also held as part of the ultra-marathon – several teams of 5 people ran 10 km – totally 50 km. The contributions made by the participants of the relay went to charitable purposes.
It is to be recalled, the first in 2018 mass race for 18 km, organized by "Vysshaya Liga", was held in Krasnodar on January 1.
On April 22, the capital of Kuban will also host the traditional race "5000 meters with Vysshaya Liga".
