The conference will focus on the development of inter-municipal cooperation, economy and culture, as well as youth exchange and sports. The event will be held from 28 to 30 June 2017.
— This year it is a great honour for the city of Krasnodar to host a truly landmark event — one of the most important events of this year in the Russian-German relations — the XIV Conference of partner cities of Russia and Germany entitled "Establishing contacts — initiating projects — building confidence: impetus for the development of the German-Russian ties". This way, the Conference will become a venue for intensifying the dialogue between communities, establishing new contacts and deepening the German-Russian cooperation, — said in city department of economic relations, investments and external affairs.
They added that a large number of mayors of Russian and German cities, politicians, representatives of the business and financial communities of the Russian Federation and Germany, and social organizations of both countries are expected to participate the Conference. Besides that, at a press conference in Moscow on 09.03.2017 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov announced a planned meeting with his German counterpart Sigmar Gabriel at the forthcoming conference in Krasnodar.
The organizers of the conference are administration of Krasnodar, the International Association “Twinned cities”, the German-Russian Forum, the Federal Association of German Societies "West-East".

The conference will include a youth forum from 26 to 30 June 2017 with the participation of young people from two countries aged from 18 to 30. The German-Russian Forum is responsible for participating in the youth forum.

An express condition for the participation of young people from Russian cities in the forum is the participation of the same number of youth from their German sister cities.
