The ceremony was participated by Governor of Krasnodar Region Veniamin Kondratiev, Krasnodar Region Legislative Assembly Chairman Vladimir Beketov, Kuban Vice-Governors, Metropolitan of Yekaterinodar and Kuban Isidor, Chairwoman of Krasnodar City Duma Vera Galushko, Deputy Head of Krasnodar Sergey Vasin, deputies of Legislative Assembly and City Duma, Heads of urban districts, servicemen, representatives of non-government organizations and youth movements.
The event has started with the laying wreaths by cadets of military higher educational institutions of the capital of Kuban. Chief executives of the region and city, servicemen and Cossacks also laid flowers and wreaths. Under the anthem of Russia the gun volleys rang out.
About 1100 citizens of Krasnodar – frontline soldiers, the city universities students, Cossacks and schoolchildren came to the Eternal Flame to pay tribute to the fallen heroes in the Great Patriotic War.
Traditionally all the people who came to the memorial meeting laid flowers to the obelisk of the USSR Heroes Ignatiev brothers and to the monument of soldiers fallen in battles for freedom and independence of our motherland in 1941-1945.
Volleys of ceremonial salute rang out. Then cadets of military colleges of the city and Cossacks of Yekaterinodar district Cossack society marched in review.
