About five hundred citizens — combat veterans, students of city’s universities and secondary specialized colleges, Cossacks, pupils and leaders of public organizations of the city came to Heroes Square to pay the tribute to the memory of fallen in the Great Patriotic War.
— On this festive day we should pay the tribute to those who upheld freedom and independence of our country in period of the Great Patriotic War. This is the festival of valour and military glory and of course this is the day of all men who have already been in the army and who is going to do it, — chairwoman of Krasnodar City Duma Vera Galushko said.
Ceremony of flower and wreaths laying to eternal light was participated by deputy head of Krasnodar Sergey Vasin, chief of the department of Cossacks and servicemen coordination of Krasnodar Region administration Alexander Kravtsov, first deputy chief of home policy department of Krasnodar Region administration Aleksey Chernenko, chairman of Krasnodar city public organization of veterans of war, labour, armed service and low-enforcement agencies Ivan Rybalko, deputies of Region Legislative Assembly and Krasnodar City Duma, heads of urban districts administrations.
Traditionally all people who came to memorial meeting laid flowers to the monument of Soviet Union Heroes Ignatov brothers and monument of soldiers fallen in battles for independence of our Motherland in 1941-1945.
Salvoes of ceremonial salute sounded in the air. Cadets from Krasnodar military academies and Cossacks of Yekaterinodar district Cossacks society marched in review.
