Today in the capital of Kuban over six thousand citizens came to ceremonial opening of the month of the mass-defensive and military-patriotic work which was held on the square in front of Military Glory exhibition hall in the Park of the 30th anniversary of the Victory.
— This year traditional month is held under the motto “I remember! I am proud!”. The words reflect our attitude towards the great feat and victory of our people in the Great Patriotic War. The main target of the month is the patriotic upbringing of citizens, children and youth. School children and students, representatives of non-governmental organizations, Cossacks and servicemen – all people will contribute to the formation of general patriotic picture in our city. Traditionally we will hold numerous useful and interesting activities – lessons on courage, festivals, meetings with frontline fighters, attending memorial places of the city and region, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
He specially thanked veterans of Krasnodar for a big work on patriotic upbringing of young people. Vladimir Evlanov stated that this year the city acknowledges veterans -liberators of Krasnodar in a special way. They will receive medals and titles of honour.
Chairwoman of Krasnodar City Duma Vera Galushko also congratulated residents of Krasnodar on ceremonial opening of “patriotic thirty days”.
— Today when opening the month we recall those who were killed by Nazi invaders and we feel our esteemed veterans. Nowadays we are learning patriotism and love for Fatherland, ability and desire to work for the benefit of our country from you, dear veterans. Thank you very much for finding time to help and work with the youth, — Vera Galushko said in her speech.
In the park organizers set up the field kitchen offering soldier’s porridge, tea and pancakes. Volunteers gave St.George Ribbons to citizens and guests of the city.
There was a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of the fallen in period of the Great Patriotic War. Honourable guests, cadets, veterans and school children laid flowers and wreaths.
The colour group, servicemen of Krasnodar garrison, Cossacks, students of Krasnodar University of Ministry of Internal Affairs and cadets of Presidential Cadet Academy marched in review.
When the official part of the event was over, Vladimir Evlanov visited the exhibition hall of Military Glory, took a look at showpieces and talked with veterans and young people.
Traditional month of the mass-defensive and military-patriotic work which is held this year under the motto “I remember! I am proud!” will come to an end on February 23.
