Today there was festive public rally on Theatre Square dedicated to the main national symbol of the country. The arrangement was participated by nearly 5,5 thousand citizens.
— The Russian tricolor which is fluttering over the main square of the capital of Kuban today is also flying in all regions of our vast Homeland — from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka, over Crimea and Sevastopol. This shows the mighty and grandeur of our country, — Head of Krasnodar Vladimir Evlanov remarked when greeting people present.
The rally was participated by representatives of non-governmental associations and political parties, Center of national cultures, youth movements, “Young Guard of United Russia” — totally over 5,5 thousand people. Chairwoman of Krasnodar City Duma Vera Galushko, Legislative Assembly of Krasnodar Region deputies Evgeny Shendrik and Nikolay Petropavlovsky, acting Secretary of Krasnodar regional branch of “United Russia” party Nikolay Gritsenko were also among people at the rally.
A cloth of National Flag of Russia was ceremonially carried by Cossacks and cadets of the city squadron “Honor guard” across Theatre Square to the strains of combined wind band. The Flag was lifted up over the square to the strains of national anthem of the Russian Federation.
— Today all people here are the most active and initiative citizens. Patriotism is not an empty word for you, but tremendous spiritual value and the way of living. We are proud of the fact that we are living in such a wonderful city that is ahead in many spheres and branches. We have achieved much — the city has changed to the better, has become modern and comfortable. Still we have ambitious tasks ahead and there is no doubt that Krasnodar citizens will overcome them, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Ceremonial event was continued with the festive concert program which was performed by Russian vocal-choreographic group “Rodnik” and its soloist, people’s actress of Russia Raisa Goncharova.
