More than 500 young boxers of Krasnodar participated a nationwide training

A large-scale boxing master-class took place in the Theatre Square of Krasnodar. It was a part of a major project of simultaneously held master-classes in nine regions of the country. The project is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records in Russia in the category "The most massive boxing training."

"The capital of Kuban actively supported the Russian Boxing Day because we love boxing. In our region more than 12 thousand people are actively engaged in it. To the joy of all those who love this sport, as it has been recently announced, Sochi would accept World Boxing Championship in 2019," said first Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of Krasnodar Region Sergey Myasishchev in his opening speech.

Chief of the city department of Physical Culture and Sports Anatoly Miroshnikov, Olympic champions Irina Karavaeva and Alexander Moskalenko, member of the City Duma Galina Barabanschikova, President of Krasnodar Region Boxing Federation Sergey Bykov and other honorary guests also arrived to welcome the participants and viewers of the mass master-class in the Theatre Square of Krasnodar.

Trainees of sports coaches from the city of Krasnodar and neighbouring districts of the region dressed in the sports uniform of white, blue and red colours drawn into the Russian Federation's flag shape. The master-class for future champions by the City Hall was held the Olympic champion Shamil Sabirov. The hopes of Kuban boxing — the winner of European and World Championships, Anastasia Shamonova and the winner of the Russian Championship, the finalist of the European tournament Nune Asatryan assisted him. Both came back this week with medals from Bulgaria, where the European Junior Championship was held.

The same boxing training took place in the Palace Square of St. Petersburg, in the Red Square in Moscow, in the Crimean Artek, in the main squares of the cities: Grozny, Perm, Tyumen, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk.

A large-scale celebration of the Russian Boxing Day coincides with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Russian Boxing Federation founding. During these days from July 21 to 26, the Executive committee of the International Amateur Boxing Association conducts a session in Moscow.

"A grand training feast for children and boys happens for the first time in the history of our city and the country in whole. I hope this will become one more beautiful tradition which will allow attracting as many children and adolescents as possible to go in for sports," told Shamil Sabirov.

According to Krasnodar Region Boxing Federation, more than 2 000 children and teenagers are now systematically engaged in boxing in Krasnodar. There are some 40 specialized sections, schools and clubs operating in the city.
