“Basel Aero” plans to construct new airport building in Krasnodar in 2017

Vladimir Evlanov and “Basel Aero” CEO Leonid Sergeev discussed details of the project of new air-terminal complex with all related infrastructure.

— Today Krasnodar needs new up-to-date airport complying with the world standards. Every year passenger flow in Krasnodar is growing and undoubtedly we are interested in that the project would be implemented. Surely it is subject to comfort and additional possibilities for Krasnodar citizens and Kuban capital guests, better conditions for business development and other advantages which will be gained by Krasnodar resulting from this project implementation, — Vladimir Evlanov said.

The meeting took place at Krasnodar stand. First of all they considered current situation at Krasnodar airport. Particularly Leonid Sergeev remarked that the airport has already got through complex stage of reconstruction. This was a difficult period but now it is over. At the moment works are focused on air-terminal complex where it is necessary to regulate trading activity, properly organize parking space in order to provide free, with no bunching, access to airport building.

The construction of new air-terminal complex which is planned to be completed in 2017 became the main topic of discussion between Vladimir Evlanov and Leonid Sergeev. Land parcel with an area of about 66 thousand square meters has been already dedicated for the project. Its investments are nearly 9 billion roubles.

— It is a whole new passenger terminal where the concept “the city within the city” will be introduced. The complex will be provided with shopping space, dining, recreation and entertainment areas. Put in other words it is meant not only for that people just wait for their flight, but also they could have a rest, deal with the matters, go shopping etc, — Leonid Sergeev said.

Designer and architectural concept of passenger terminal of new airport has been developed by Dutch consulting company NACO — one of leading international consultants in sphere of planning and design of air-terminal complexes.

 — First up we have to get approval for the project then set it going. The work is in process now and today we’re in a position to start implementing the project, — Leonid Sergeev said.

This being said he added that after getting all approvals we start engineering; the beginning of construction works will become the next step.
