Today the capital of Kuban hosted festival of mechanical sports. The event was held under the egis of the Russian Motorcycle Federation. The show honourable guests were Chairman of Krasnodar Region Legislative Assembly Vladimir Beketov and Head of Krasnodar Vladimir Evlanov.
— Krasnodar is open for mass sports activities. Our city is deservedly considered a centre of attraction for bright sport events. In the capital of Kuban there are dozens of sport venues and hundreds thousands citizens go in for sports on a regular basis. This spectacular show unveils the beauty of motorcycle sport. Such sport activities make the city life more interesting, many-faceted and fulfilling. I hope the festival adds to the sport amateurs in Krasnodar, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Head of Krasnodar also said that in the shortest time in Krasnodar new special sport center will be opened in Furmanova Street to engage mechanical sports.
President of the Russian Motorcycle Federation Alexander Geus and Deputy Head of Krasnodar Aleksey Kopaigorodsky were also among the guests of sport show.
The show was participated by sportsmen aged from 8 to 16 and experienced masters, prize winners of European and World Championships.
— In our technical century there are so many cars and motorcycles in our streets. People and especially the youth want to show their prowess and mettle. They are willing to go through mechanical sports. Motorcycle sport is great, motorcycle sport is magnificent. I would like to wish all the participants of today’s festival excellent performance and viewers — good impressions, - Vladimir Beketov said.
Krasnodar citizens and guests of the city viewed the performance presented by well-known Russian motorcycle racers Nikolay Ivankov, Vladimir and Mikhail Yarygin. They were joined the young generation of Motorcycle Federation — Ivan Kargapoltsev and Eugene Stepnoy. Accompanied by the applause of many viewers sportsmen demonstrated elements of motofreestyle including such tricks as back flip, combo jumps and synchronous stunts. As part of the festival there was also an exhibition performance of young racers of Krasnodar Region Motorcycle Federation.
Extreme motofreestyle show presented by sportsmen of Moscow motorcycle club FERZ was the culmination of sport festival. They performed dangerous elements of motofreestyle — back flip, combo jumps and synchronous stunts. All the jumps were done over the fountain situated near to the building of Krasnodar Region Legislative Assembly.
In conclusion guests and citizens of the city had the opportunity to get autographs of eminent sportsmen and make photos with them.
FMX, or motofreestyle is a kind of sport emerged in the 90s of XX century in the US. Initially the term stood for acrobatic jumps made on a motorcycle during motocross races. Gradually FMX was allowed a separate sport discipline.
The Russian Motorcycle Federation (RMF) is All-Russian Public Organization which is aimed to the development of motorcycle sport in the country. RMF was established in 1991 as the successor to the USSR Motorcycle Sport Federation that had existed since January 1960. Nowadays the Federation includes almost 70 regional divisions created by the sporting community.
