Head of the city held a press conference for federal, regional and city’s mass media. Vladimir Evlanov again touched on the question which has been mentioned by him during the past session of municipal Duma — renaming of Krasnodar to Yekaterinodar.
— We have talked much about patriotism and reversion to cultural origin. The fact that people around so hotly debate the theme of returning of pre-revolutionary name to our city may denote the only thing — we are not indifferent to the city history and it’s future. As a matter of fact it is referred to returning historical name Yekaterinodar to the city. The name was given at city’s foundation and many cities of Russia have already undergone the procedure of historical name returning, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
If the decision of returning of name given to the city at its origin will be accepted, then the procedure itself will impact citizens’ wallet in no shape or form. There will be no additional paper chase and no paper-laden processes. It is referred to procedures connected with exchange or making changes to passports, ownership certificates and other documents. The city Head considers that only in case of scheduled exchange of old documents to new ones this will be necessary to do.
— And what's the main the decision will be accepted only with due consideration to the opinion of citizens. I guess that such decisions may by accepted just publicly, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
It is planned to create open advisory committee and carry out large-scale public opinion researches.
— We will thoroughly allow for all possible consequences of accepted decision including economic aspect. And just after this due estimation we may accept the decision, — city’s Head said.
During press conference mayor also answered the questions regarding advertisement ordering, facades overhauling and distributive services putting to rights.
