This was said by Vladimir Evlanov summarizing the work of regional headquarters for the development and improvement of Krasnodar in 2014 and defining plans for the future during today’s session of Board of Directors.
— The work on improvement of city’s streets and creation of single architectural style of Krasnodar is carried out within a framework of regional headquarters founded on the order of Kuban Governor Alexander Tkachev almost a year ago. Hundreds facades, yards and pavements are set in order; the city got rid of excessive advertisement. We can see the results of work done, but there are still a great many of unresolved issues as to provision of public services and amenities in the city. Therefore we should keep the pace, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
The city Head also mentioned several large-scale urban land improvement projects which will be implemented in the coming years. This refers to arrangement of Kuban embankment for almost 13 kilometers from Christmas park to the park of the 30th anniversary of Victory and the reconstruction of coastal strip along cascade of Karasun ponds. The project implies the creation of promenade area and pedestrian embankment united in the single architectural style.
Over the long term it is planned here to open recreational facilities, cafés, sports grounds, bicycle paths. Currently the projects are being analyzed and any proposals considered. Representatives of Internet-community, experts and designers are actively getting involved in the discussion.
— Presently citizens as well as time itself make demands on the quality of urban environment and amenities. Now it is time for Krasnodar to apply professional solutions in the sphere of urban design and setting up public spaces. We need, among other things, recreational areas landscaped in European style and created in concordance with the world trends, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
The past year we have opened the last stage of Krasnaya Street Boulevard, created a garden square near to Music Theatre. And today Peoples’ Friendship garden square prepares for opening after its last stage of reconstruction. In the beginning of May the sculpture “A Boy and an Elephant” will be installed and works on a fountain bowl in the center of garden square will be completed.
Also regional headquarters for the development and urban land improvement of Krasnodar are working out projects for the reconstruction of existing markets — some of them have been already engaged in work by now. Vishnyakovskiy market is pending renovation too. At the market’s territory it is planned to construct a new multistoried shopping and entertainment complex. The first stage of the works on the area of nearly 5 ths sq. m. is under construction now. The erection of the object will take about two years; it will be provided with parking spaces.
