Transport card is being integrated at suburban bus routes in Krasnodar

Electronic system of fare payment has started to act at a range of suburban routes of the capital of Kuban. This was announced by Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov during operational meeting held in municipal administration.

— The recent years Krasnodar citizens got used to transport card, they use it oftener both when traveling around the city by electric transport and buses. Now it is time to integrate the transport card system at suburban routes, but so far in test mode to give citizens the possibility to adapt for it. All suburban bus routes should accept transport cards by February-end, — Vladimir Evlanov ordered.

The operational meeting was also participated by Chief of the department of transport and environment protection Evgeny Kalioropulo, director of municipal unitary enterprise “Krasnodar Tram and Trolleybus Directorate” Aleksey Knyazev, director of LLC “Krasnodaravtotrans” Roman Dovgalev, director of LLC “Electronic ticket of Kuban” Andrey Grigorenko.

Evgeny Kalioropulo informed that both cash and cashless payments will be put into application at KTTD routes and routes of commercial carriers. Passengers will be able to pay fares in several ways.

— Automated system of payment will help us to coordinate transport flows, time of trips and their quantity more precisely. Additionally, it will become easier to track the passenger flow growth, sectors of peak load and understand what routes need more transport vehicles. The system will become an element of control over takings collection, help monitoring financial flows, — Evgeny Kalioropulo said.

Also electronic system of accounting of preferential categories citizens trips will allow to reimburse finances to carriers for actually vested preferences and create explicit conditions for mutual settlements with carriers.

Municipal unitary enterprise KTTD and 23 commercial carriers deal with transport services in Krasnodar. Transport cards are available at 370 points of sale including 34 kiosks of KTTD situated near to the main stops of public transport. There are also two service centers which are at the corner of Krasnaya and Gorkogo Streets in “Arbat” trade center and to the address Stavropolskaya St. 318. The third service center will be soon opened at Chekistov Avenue 37.

Though the number of such centers has to be increased even more – Vladimir Evlanov entrusted transport workers with the task.

— It should be convenient for citizens living in various parts of the city to buy or top up their cards. Therefore, corresponding centers should be opened in all microdistricts, — Head of Krasnodar underlined.

— This interesting and advanced system has the right to life. When people will get used to it, the system will become irreplaceable. This is unconditional break at the technical level and we fully support it, — Chief of inspection division of the department of transport in Krasnodar Region administration Anatoly Kosev said.

Transport card is specially designed for fares at public passenger transport. Fares are debited from card via special scanning unit. The project has been implemented in Krasnodar since 2010.

Presently transport card is used by 100 200 people; number of trips made via this card exceeded 13 million. There are also “School children card” and “Student card” providing preferences for fares.
