Development prospects of the road and street network of Krasnodar were discussed during today’s regional conference dedicated to the region transport infrastructure modernization. The session was chaired by Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev. Among others the session work was participated by Head of the capital of Kuban Vladimir Evlanov.
— Overall development of Krasnodar is impossible without improving its transport infrastructure. We have a lot of roads, but no unified system, no formed system of transport bypasses. We must solve the problem, otherwise the city will become full of traffic jams here and there. Krasnodar is the capital of Kuban and its problems cannot remain the problems of the city only. We need consolidated with the regional authorities solutions, we need mutual understanding of what to do first to relieve pressure on roads of Krasnodar, — Veniamin Kondratiev said.
The meeting was also participated by Vice-Governor of Kuban Andrey Alekseenko and Deputy Head of Krasnodar Evgeny Naumov.
The main prospects for the development of transport infrastructure in Krasnodar design engineers associate with the creation of the North-West detour and also the South-West one in future. The existing Eastern and Western detours are overwhelmed with traffic flows moving in Krasnodar.
At the meeting Vladimir Evlanov stated that the city is in need of support in implementation of already started road construction projects, particularly to complete the construction of Vostochno-Kruglikovskaya street road and the reconstruction of road of Turgenev Street. Besides that it is necessary to arrange exits of an interchange on Dzerzhinskogo Street near shopping and entertainment mall «Krasnaya Ploschad» leading to the area of Peter Metalnikov, Moskovskaya and Rossiyskaya Streets.
— In the long-term we are also to solve issues of large-scale projects funding. It is about projects which are being developed — construction of a new bridge over Kuban River, new road interchange in the area of “Sports City” at Dzerzhinskogo Street. We are ready to discuss this and other projects and look for new options for their implementation because the issue is of great significance for Krasnodar. The main thing is to get a unified plan of actions to resolve transportation problems of the city, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Veniamin Kondratiev set the task – within the shortest time to identify priorities for the work on the development of transport infrastructure of Kuban capital.
— There must be a unified position of my deputy responsible for transport and road facilities and administration of Krasnodar City. We need a concrete plan of action for the following three years — where and what it is required specifically to do in order to solve most pressing transportation nodes. We will gradually carry out the programme, — Veniamin Kondratiev said.
The total amount of roads in Krasnodar has reached 1885 km. 1734 km out of them belongs to municipality, 1367,5 km have asphalt covering. Along with that there are over 2320 km pavements and 850 km urban-drainage network throughout the city.
11 bridges and crossovers, 19 underground walkways, 378 traffic light facilities, 35000 road signs, 135000 sq. m. road surface markings have been created and are functioning for traffic management and road safety in Krasnodar.
