10 cities of Russia, including Sochi of Krasnodar Region, have entered the final round of the contest for the selection of symbols for new banknotes par value 200 and 2000 roubles. Final stage of voting will take place on the air of “Russia 1” TV Channel on October 7, 2016, 6 p.m., where the results of selection will be summarized and two winners declared.
— Krasnodar Region stands a good chance for a confident win in the voting, this will become our next common achievement. Both preparations to and hosting Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi would be impossible without support of the whole Kuban and this contest which is held for the first time in our country’s history, allows us to select truly people’s symbol for new banknotes. If our region wins the contest this will be another evidence of our leading positions among regions of Russia and our high investment attractiveness, — a representative of Krasnodar Region administration stated.
The final stage of the contest also includes cities and territories: Vladimir, Volgograd, Irkutsk, Kazan, Nizhniy Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, Sevastopol, Sergiyev Posad and the Far East.
