The initiative was voiced today by Krasnodar Head during his visit to State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company “Kuban”. Vladimir Evlanov met editorial team and answered questions related to different aspect of the city life.
— I think all the citizens should know about talents of truly creative and strong in spirit people with a tremendous energetics. So when preparing to City Day celebrations we need to explore the possibility to include them in the concert programme, I guess it will be a pleasure to view their performances, — Mayor underlined.
Today nearly 70 thousand disabled people live in Krasnodar. We support them through various social programmes, including a municipal one — “Accessibility”.
According to Vladimir Evlanov Krasnodar is becoming more and more accessible for people with a low mobility, much have been done in that area. Residential houses, commercial properties, social facilities and office buildings – both existing and those which are being built now or just in projecting are fitted with all necessary equipment for citizens with health limitations and physical disabilities. This is about wheelchair ramps, elevators and special lift equipment. Special tactile paving is laid along the major streets of Krasnodar. Also there are over hundred radio informers to guide visually impaired people.
Additionally we purchase special low-floor buses and trams. Dozens public transport stops are reequipped and social facilities accessibility is ensured for low mobility citizens.
