Traditional annual event devoted to professional holiday was also participated by Krasnodar City Duma Chairwoman Vera Galushko, Chief of City Duma committee on public relations, mass media, issues for migration, interethnic and religious relations, Cossacks and servicemen coordination, Nikolay Khil, Deputy Head of Krasnodar Sergey Vasin.
Krasnodar Head summed up the results of 2014 by marking the achievements of the capital of Kuban in the development of consumer’s market, housing construction, creation of social infrastructure, fulfillment of electors' mandates.
— According to major indicators Krasnodar is among leaders of Russia and the fact that the city has such a reputation is to a large extent the merit of journalists who tell and write about our city in a positive way, identify success and achievements of Krasnodar citizens, — Vladimir Evlanov stated.
Vera Galushko, in her turn, emphasized that our city media is a peculiar discussion platform where the most pressing and important for every citizen matters are deliberated.
Chiefs and journalists of the leading municipal and regional publications received gift books published to City Day — “Yekaterinodar. Krasnodar” and “All temples of Yekaterinodar-Krasnodar”.
Russian Press Day is marked on January 13. This very day in 1703 by the decree of Peter the Great the first issue of the first Russian newspaper “Vedomosti” was published in Russia. This professional holiday was approved by decree of Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR from January 13, 1991 instead of Soviet Press Day celebrated at that time on May 5.
