Today a youth patriotic event dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of liberation of Krasnodar from Nazi invaders was held at Zhukov garden square.
— During historic reenactment of Krasnodar liberation representatives of Krasnodar patriotic club “Fatherland’s soldiers” have planted a red banner on historic building as a symbol of Krasnodar liberation from the German-fascist occupation. The building is the former residence of Regional Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks. The action is aimed at attraction of the youth attention to the events of the past, contribution to historical memory of the rising generation, cultivation of civil consciousness among children and teenagers, — Chief of the department of youth Sergey Kilin stated.
This event was participated by the Great Patriotic War veterans, representatives of youth patriotic clubs of Krasnodar, students, school boys and girls.
— Krasnodar has met its liberation day in smoke and conflagration left by German invaders when coming out the city. Citizens ran out to Krasnaya Street, hugged with soldiers coming up from the bus terminal, stopped military equipment to greet the troops, wept and sang songs. This was one of the happiest days in all my life. I was 12 years old at that time. From year to year I come to the former Palace of Pioneers situated at Zhukov garden square where occupants strung up two of my classmate friends in the last days before the city liberation, — witness of those events Malvina Pavlovna Us (Tarasova) confided memories.
The showcase of retro and military equipment and exhibition presenting dozens of unique items found by search teams at sites of the Great War battles within the territory of Krasnodar Region: great attention was paid to spent brass, hand bombs and steel pots of the Soviet army fighters.
There was also captured gramophone playing music of war years from a rare collection of old records.
During the action, members of youth patriotic clubs wearing accurate uniform of the Red Army soldiers of 1940 performed historic reenactment of events of February 12, 1943: from a symbolic barricade fortified just in the garden square, interservice unit of motorized rifle infantry shouting “Hurrah!” and under shots of a mine thrower and gun ran to the former building of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks at the corner of Krasnaya and Gimnazicheskaya Streets. Then, member of the club “Fatherland’s soldiers” Akhsarbek Khubulov displaying reconnaissance man Vasyukov raised a Red Banner of size three to one and a half meters at the building balcony.
Organizers of the youth patriotic action held in Zhukov garden square were the department of youth policy of Krasnodar Region administration, Center for patriotic upbringing of Kuban youth together with the department of youth of Krasnodar administration.
On February 12, 1943, troops of 46th army under command of I.P.Roslyy consisting of 91st mountain division of Colonel M.E. Evstegneev, 31st rifle division of Colonel P.K. Bogdanovich, 40th separate motorized brigade of Major General N.F. Tseplyaev liberated Krasnodar from the German occupation.
As it has been already reported, in the morning of February 12 ceremonial laying wreaths and flowers to the memorial of fascism’s victims took place in Chistyakovskaya Grove in Krasnodar.
