The initiative of Krasnodar Head Evgeny Pervyshov on expert council engaged in planning of longterm strategy of city development will continue. The Council’s final name is determined and its organizational committee that will select members to the Council and define the purposes and objectives is formed.
— Today it is very important to unite leading architects of the city, project developers, engineers and other specialists from among citizens in order to receive the opportunity collectively and in a constructive way to elaborate and discuss the most pressing issues of the city life. The Council’s agenda will involve issues of architectural appearance, landscaping as well as prospects in economic and transport development etc. I very much hope that the Council will help to fairly assess the current and tomorrow’s situation in the city, find points of growth and vice versa keep track of problematic issues. If we want to change the city life to the better, create comfortable urban environment and improve infrastructure then there should be close and effective communication between municipal administration and specialists. Communication and understanding which, I’m sure, we will reach, — Evgeny Pervyshov said.
At the meeting participants talked about the area and format of work of the Council. Besides that, based on the purposes and objectives, they decided the name of this new public structure — Strategic Development Council of Krasnodar.
Primarily it was determined that one of paramount questions for the Council is amending the General Plan of Krasnodar. In the past year the city community actively joined the debates over new project of amendments to the General Plan. Finally the city planning document was sent for reworking.
It is supposed that the Council will conduct its activities on a regular basis. It will be divided into sectors (committees) according to the main lines of city life and include such specialists as project developers, landscapers, architects, urbanists, engineers, ecologists etc.
Following the results of meeting 10 people became members of initial structure of the Council’s organizational committee. It was decided that only persons from among citizens of Krasnodar would be allowed to join the Council. Along with that, representatives of government bodies will not be admitted to the membership too.
Particularly, now newly founded organizational committee includes lecturers of universities, businessmen, specialists in law and economy, architects.
