System of complex automation of transport is created in Krasnodar

There was the presentation of the system of complex automation of public transport (SCAT) in the course of the meeting held by Vladimir Evlanov. Components of the system have been already tested on routes of municipal trolleybuses.

— New development will allow centrally controlling and managing all route network of Kuban capital public transport. Krasnodar is in need of this system, it is to make work of public transport more accurate and moving of Krasnodar citizens and city guests around the city more convenient and comfortable, — Vladimir Evlanov said when opening the meeting.

The department of transport of Krasnodar administration, specialists of municipal operations control duty desk, Krasnodar tram and trolleybus department together with the system designer — CSBI Group Company from St. Petersburg conducted two months ground work for integration of SCAT in Krasnodar. The system undergoes adapting in testing mode on trolleybus route № 6 in regional center.

System of complex automation of transport (SCAT) uses GLONASS and special soft and hard ware. It provides the possibility to observe the movement of trams, trolleybuses and buses in real-time, correct speed of movement of public transport.

Besides of that, in the near term SCAT will be integrated in a single system of interaction with rescue and towing services, ecologic monitoring and coordination of traffic lights.

The system will allow implementing control and financial accounting over the whole process of passenger transportation; centralizing management process in a single system. SCAT will also provide possibility to connect a driver on route with operations control centre. Finally the project implementation will allow saving budgetary funds due to automatic calculation of subsidies for corporate carriers and control over passengers transportation.

— We must integrate the system in Krasnodar in the shortest possible terms without any delay and at full interaction of all involved municipal services and developers, — Vladimir Evlanov set a task.

SCAT system will allow Krasnodar citizens to save significant amount of time for their route. Web portal on the base of web-site of Krasnodar city administration where one will be able to observe exact location of necessary transport in the online mode and also lay out the route of moving around the city with a glance to current road traffic situation that will also save citizens’ money for travels. Additionally, public transport stops will be fitted with special information displays whereby passengers will have an opportunity to trace an exact time of arrival of necessary transport at the halting point.

According to chief of the department of transport Evgeny Kalioropulo the system is all ready for integration, adaptation for certain movement routes of public transport. Even today special municipal dispatcher service is created. Skeleton staff of the system will be composed of specialists of municipal operations control duty desk. The system designers also plan to install watching cameras in public transport vehicles. They will allow not only watching current situation within a trolleybus but also watching the road situation and detecting traffic offenders who hinder public transport to move by traffic shadule.

It is planned to integrate fully the system by the middle of the next year. After Moscow and St. Petersburg, Krasnodar is to become the third city of Russia where this system will start working.

Krasnodar is one of the biggest cities in southern Russia. It has ramified system of public transport including buses of big and little capacity, trolleybuses and trams. Totally for one year municipal public transport carries over 130 mln passengers and over 400 thousand people per day.
