Outcome of grain crops harvesting within suburban farms was discussed and prospects for the development of branch were defined during today’s operational meeting held in administration of regional center.
— This year Kuban agrarians obtained an excellent yield of grain crops but still we have perspectives for growth and we shouldn’t be satisfied with what has already been achieved – Kuban capital needs a long-range program for the development of agricultural production and processing. This is particularly topical as domestic products will be highly in demand at the market. Such a program is to be worked out within the shortest possible time, it will increase investment opportunities of the city, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
According to information provided by Chief of the department of industrial and agricultural development Ivan Chernomaz, in 2014 suburban farms of regional center obtained record-breaking yield of grain crops — the highest indicators for recent 10 years.
58 thousand tons grains were harvested from the area of 9,4 thousand sq.m. with average productivity 61,6 hundreds kilograms per hectare. The main cereal — winter wheat was gathered in the volume of 51 thousand tons with average productivity 62,6 hundreds kilograms per hectare. At the same time Krasnodar grain is chiefly of high quality and is suitable for bread baking.
In specialists’ judgment, high-yielding crop is a result a good use of agricultural and mechanical technologies, close interaction of science and practice, renewal of agricultural equipment. Thus, in recent three years about 150 mln roubles were spent for procurement of new tractors, seeding-machines fitted with GPS navigators, combine harvesters allowing take in the harvest quickly and free of losses.
Work-study farming “Kuban” of Kuban State Agrarian University, All-Russian scientific-research institute of oil-producing crops and scientific-experimental stud farm “Krasnodarskoe” gathered the highest yield in this year.
