Patriotic upbringing of young people was discussed in Krasnodar

Round table discussion chaired by Deputy Head of Krasnodar Natalia Makhanko was held in administration of the capital of Kuban. This was dedicated to delivering of events in honor of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

— On the eve of such a significant date — the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War — we need to keep the ties between generations, approach to the question informally and apply new formats of work in order ot make studying of the Russian, regional and city history interesting for children and youth, — Natalia Makhanko spoke when opening the meeting.
Krasnodar schools have integrated various methods of upbringing of the younger generation which are running not only as part of ongoing month of the mass-defensive and military-patriotic work, but on a year-round basis, — Director of the department of education Aleksey Nekrasov said.

He told that senior pupils of general education schools prepare thematic events, participate in educational hours «The memory is cherished by people who are being alive», «World without fascism», «Victorious spring», «They have fought for Motherland», «The war’s children». Celebratory assemblies dedicated to the Victory Day are held in all schools of the city. A contest for the best thematic school’s wall newspapers, posters and banners is organized for the first time. Youngsters take part in activities on improvement of monument and memorials territories assigned to educational institutions. Young citizens are pleased to wear t-shirts with an inscription «Grandfather’s Victory — My Victory» and printed images of their relatives who participated in the war. Young volunteers help the Great Patriotic War veterans with general domestic work.

Every Krasnodar’s school has its own highlight in preparation to the coming remarkable date. The round table participants shared their ideas and best practices. Productive and emotional conversation was backed by photo albums and other printed matter prepared by children from educational institutions.

— Unfortunately today there are so many people who want to rewrite the history. This should not be allowed. Our children are descendants of those soldiers who fought in that awful war and they should thoroughly know the history of our nation, be proud of our country which defeated Nazism seventy years ago — Natalia Makhanko emphasized in summarizing the meeting.
