A new bus lane along Machugi Street will start functioning by the end of July in Krasnodar

A bus only lane will be allocated along Machugi Street in the section from Fadeeva to Tramvainaya Streets when moving into the city from airport. It is supposed to be put to work by the end of July.

— We continue to develop the system of public transport and create bus only lanes within street and road network of Krasnodar. This will let the city trolleybuses, buses and shuttle buses moving faster, give public transport a tangible advantage at roads and make them more convenient for citizens. As a matter of priority we work through possibilities of such lanes creation at most active road arteries, including entry routes in all directions. Naturally, such a bus lane is much in demand when moving from Krasnodar airport, — Head of the city Vladimir Evlanov commented.

According to information of Krasnodar administration traffic management department, currently specialists carry out preparatory works before putting into operation a new chart of traffic movement at Machugi Street. Road surface marking will be made and appropriate traffic signs will be installed over the whole length of allocated lane in section from Fadeeva to Tramvainaya Streets. Contracting organization will proceed to this work within the shortest time and finish it up to the end of month.

It is to be recalled that in keeping with order of Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov in April of this year a review of the most problem areas of Krasnodar street and road network was conducted by municipal department of traffic management together with the department of transport and environment protection and municipal unitary enterprise “Krasnodar tram and trolleybus directorate”. They developed the plan of urban public transport lanes organization. Separate sections of 15 streets with a total length of bus lanes about 45 kilometers were predefined for the purpose.
