Vladimir Evlanov congratulated workers of agricultural sector of Krasnodar on their professional holiday

Head of Krasnodar held a reception dedicated to the Day for the Persons Employed in Agricultural Sector and Processing Industry. Traditionally on the eve of the holiday Vladimir Evlanov congratulated agricultural workers and paid tribute to the best representatives of the branch.

By the end of agricultural year our agroindustrial complex has obtained great result. This year we have the record grain harvest. Yearly Krasnodar is in top-5 in cereal crops yield and among leaders in the production of vegetables and fruits in Krasnodar Region. Fairly high performance has been also achieved in animal breeding. We should keep up leading positions in the following. I’m sure that agricultural undertakings will continue successful development, gain strength and extend human and scientific resources, — Vladimir Evlanov said.

The event was also participated by Deputy Chairman of Krasnodar City Duma Yuri Gritsenko and Chief of the department of agricultural development Grigory Slyusarenko.

During the meeting participants talked about prospects for the development of agricultural sphere and processing industry in Krasnodar.

— We should retain and develop strong scientific potential of our unique agro-city. Science and high technologies allow Krasnodar agrarians to gain good results — director of KSAU instructional and research farm “Kuban” Timofei Logoida said.

Head of peasant farm enterprise Tatiana Moshkina placed emphasis on the necessity to attract young specialists into agricultural sector and shared her methods of vegetables and fruits high yield raising.    

— One should strictly observe the terms of fertilization and timely bring weeds under control. High farming standards are firstly in hard everyday work, — Tatiana Moshkina said.

Agroindustrial complex of Krasnodar is represented by 30 agricultural undertakings based on various forms of ownership, 665 peasant farm enterprises and 203 gardening associations. Over 15 thousand families undertake farm household. Population of rural districts of Krasnodar is 87,7 thousand people — 6 thousand of them work afield and in farms.

Food and processing industry of Krasnodar is represented with 78 big, medium and small-sized enterprises. Over 5 thousand people are employed in the sphere.

In 2015 the city obtained the record grain harvest – 95 thousand tons with average yield 63,1 centners per 1 hectare that is by 20 tons greater than in the past year.
