Today two patriotic youth demonstrations — “Parade of winners” and “Immortal regiment” were held in Kuban capital in honour of the 69th anniversary of the Great Victory.
Youth action “Parade of winners” united over 1 thousand young and old citizens who bore portraits and photos of their relatives – participants of the Great Patriotic War. According to organizers this festive parade was participated by school children, students, members of youth patriotic formations and clubs, common citizens who attended “Parade of winners” together with their families.
“Parade of winners” started from Zhukov garden square and went in the direction of Theatre Square. Legendary 30-cwt lorries “GAZ 51” and commander’s “UAZ” of the war times were in the forefront of the column. Decorated with copies of flags of Victory, Russia, Kuban and Krasnodar automobiles carried war veterans. Parallely organized by Radio-107 action “Immortal regiment” rallied more than 1,5 thousand people, it started in intersection of Krasnaya and Gimnazicheskaya Streets at 13.00.
Earlier in the morning there was a ceremony of flower and wreath laying to eternal light at “Heroes’ Memory” square in Krasnodar. That ceremony was participated by the Great Patriotic War veterans, chiefs of Krasnodar Region and Krasnodar City, military men, representatives of public organizations and political parties.
Also a march of parade squads, military and retro-equipment devoted to the 69th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War took place at Theatre Square at 11.00 on the dot. The ceremony was participated by Kuban Governor Alexander Tkachev and Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov.
