Feats of warriors and heroes, memory of citizens who participated in the reconstruction of destroyed Krasnodar are eternalized in monuments and memorial plaques. In Kolosistyy village “The square of memory of heroes-tankers” is complemented with a newly restored tank; within Karasunskiy urban district of Krasnodar a memorial plaque to the Great Patriotic War participant Pavel Tyulyaev was ceremonially opened and Krasnodar school №78 presented a memorial plaque to the Russian Federation Hero Lieutenant Colonel Shevelev.
- Human memory is selective and our task is to preserve the knowledge of the Great Patriotic War participants, of those who defended our Fatherland and liberated Europe from fascism and to hand this knowledge down from generation to generation. The feat of our grandfathers should never be scuffed in the consciousness of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, - Head of Prikubanskiy urban district Maxim Nechitailo underlined when speaking at the meeting in Kolosistyy village.
In 1989 employees of the research farm “Kolos” mounted a monument “Flame of Glory” and lit an Eternal flame in the memorial complex of the village. Regional search organization “Nabat” complemented the exposition with a piece of armor of a burned tank. “Armor slab” with inscription “They defended Fatherland” was installed at the foot of the monument.
In 2012 by the decision of Krasnodar City Duma the square received official name “The square of memory of heroes-tankers”. In 2015 the whole memorial complex was renovated at the initiative of the City Duma deputy Yuri Gritsenko using the resources of the program on electoral mandates execution.
The new monument – a Soviet medium tank T-62 which was manufactured in the USSR from 1961 to 1975. The exemplar of tank was transferred to a military unit that is deployed at the territory of Krasnodar Region.
Today, in Karasunskiy urban district of Krasnodar there was also a ceremonial presentation of a memorial plaque to the Great Patriotic War participant and prominent state figure P.F. Tyulyaev at house №21 situated in the street bearing his name.
Pavel Fedorovich Tyulyaev (1905-1946) employed in the position of Chairman of Krasnodar Regional Executive Committee of the People’s Deputy Council in the 1930-40s. Since 1940 he has done great work to put the national economy to a war footing. During the occupation he headed the regional headquarters of guerrilla movement.
