It is devoted to the 73rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Among the participants of the event, organized with the support of the Russian Geographical Society and the city administration, were the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Kuban capital Yuri Burlachko and the city Mayor Evgeny Pervyshov.
"We plant trees to commemorate the activities of the Russian Geographical Society. This is an old and good tradition — to plant trees in a sign of the important and significant events. This new alley will become a relay of good — time will pass and the next generations of residents and guests of Krasnodar will be walking here," said Yuri Burlachko.
New walkway was laid near the Palace of Sports Olymp. Participants of the action together planted more than two dozen arborvitaes. According to organizers, the place for new alley was not chosen by chance — the Palace of Sports Olymp hosts a large number of sporting events, the surrounding area is a popular place of recreation for residents and guests of the city.
"Russian Geographical Society is our history and traditions. This is a jubilee year for Krasnodar. The city celebrates the 75-th anniversary of liberation from Nazi invaders. Soon we will celebrate, perhaps, the most important holiday of the country — the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. We will do our best to conduct it on a large scale, so that all participants feel the festive atmosphere, talk with our esteemed veterans," said Evgeny Pervyshov.
The Mayor of the capital of Kuban thanked all the organizers and participants of the action. Evgeny Pervyshov expressed confidence that the Russian Geographical Society in its activities will continue to reflect the history of the Fatherland, keep it relevant pages in the memory of generations.
