Students of Krasnodar youth athletic center “Football academy” visited Karlsruhe, challenged teams of sport associations “Siemens Karlsruhe” and “Kuppenheim” and got in with agemates.
— An exchange of visits of representatives of different spheres from Krasnodar and Karlsruhe, including visits of young sportsmen is made within the confines of the programme dedicated to the development of partnership relations and strengthening friendly contacts between our sister cities. By the way, two groups of Krasnodar students are on the visit in Germany now, and the third group leaves for there today, — specialists of the department of foreign relations and protocol of Krasnodar administration said.
Students of “Football Academy” headed by director Valeriy Zavyalov have left for Germany with answer visit. Young people from Karlsruhe visited the capital of Kuban the past spring.
The visit programme of Krasnodar team included friendly matches, official receptions, joint leisure time of Russian and German young people, sightseeing tours and cultural events.
The matches of young footballers were attended by members of Karlsruhe-Krasnodar Friendship Association and Head of sports department of the city of Karlsruhe. In two matches Krasnodar football players challenged teams “Siemens Karlsruhe” and “Kuppenheim” and won both — 2:0 and 3:0 correspondingly.
In Karlsruhe visitors from Krasnodar were accompanied by trainers of sporting association “Siemens Karlsruhe”. They got to know the latest scientific achievements in “Art and Media Technologies Center” of Karlsruhe, made a tour to mountains and were received in sport school of Sсhöneck located on Turmberg mountain. Boys and girls have also paddled a canoe at a port of the River Rhine and made friends during barbecue party held at the camp of “Siemens Karlsruhe” association.
As it was mentioned in the department of foreign relations and protocol of Krasnodar administration, this is not the first visit of Krasnodar’s sport school students to Germany. In different years bicyclists, wrestlers, runners, young tennis players and oarsmen from Krasnodar visited Karlsruhe. It is to be recalled, that once again in the end of June 2016 a team of Krasnodar oarsmen won rowing regatta Cup of Karlsruhe port.
Initial contacts between Krasnodar and Karlsruhe have been established in 1979. In 1992, a joint declaration on establishment of friendly relations was signed and in 1997 the cities became twinned.
