Battlefield generals, prominent historians, writers and representatives of local authorities gave a report on various periods of the Great Patriotic War to school boys and girls, students, cadets, pupils of military sports clubs.
— Holiday of the Victory unites all generations and all nationalities of our country. We do not have the right to forget the cost given for the Victory of Soviet people. Nowadays there are too many people wanting to review the results of war and sponge out the memory of the feat of our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers. Our task is to learn lessons of history fairly and to be as worthy of feats of soldiers-liberators, — Deputy Head of Krasnodar Sergey Vasin underlined.
Among honourable guests of the conference were participants of the war, military veterans, inspectors of conjoint strategic command of Southern Federal District in Krasnodar Region, Cossacks and deputies of Krasnodar City Duma. The conference was led by Chairman of the city veteran organization, deputy of Krasnodar Region Legislative Assembly Ivan Rybalko.
At the entry participants were met by cadets of Krasnodar presidential cadet college. In the hall guests could see an exposition displaying Krasnodar citizens, Soviet Union Heroes, women who had been at war, famous commanders and their victorious battles.
Portable exposition was presented by Exhibition Hall of Military Glory. Cadets of military-patriotic club “Guard of honour” performed a master-class on disassembling and assembling assault rifle AK-74. In the hall a big screen displayed documentary films of “Parade in Red Square on November 7, 1941” and “Parade of Victory”.
An official part of the conference was opened and closed with anthems of Russia, Kuban and Krasnodar. The audience song in chorus.
— Today we have the unique opportunity to look at events of the Great Patriotic War from the point of view of professionals, listen to the war participants, ask them questions and get to know particular things, as the saying is, straight from the tin, — deputy of Krasnodar City Duma Nikolay Khil said.
Major General Vladimir Trofimenko told about Fascist Germany guileful invasion of Soviet Union, the frustration of Nazi’s block aggressive plans, the Red Army victory near Moscow.
Major General Yan Lufi made a report of Stalingrad battle and battle at the Kursk bulge.
Decisive victories at the Soviet-German front and liberation of European countries were recreated by Major Generals Vladimir Novikov and Sergey Yatsuk.
Lieutenant General Valery Shumakov told about economic foundation of the Victory and Rear-admiral Mikhail Sviridov elaborated on aspects of politico-military cooperation of countries of anti-Hitler coalition.
Historical and scientific conference resulted in a message of its participants to residents of the city. Particularly, it says: “We strongly condemn attempts to rewrite the history, all the more so as attempts to revive fascist bands and regimes. We are shocked to behavior of those countries which try to cause trouble between fraternal peoples of Russia and Ukraine”.
