Vladimir Evlanov attended new complex of warehouses and industrial premises “Kuban gift” which is meant for 40 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable products. It will become one of the largest logistics centers in Krasnodar for storing and pre-sale preparation of vegetables and fruits.
— In current economic circumstances we have a task to boost our own production, first of all in food industry. It is essential for our city to improve conditions for the development of agricultural sector; one of such factors is the creation of smart logistics system to ensure optimal conditions for movement of grown products from agricultural producers to consumers. An important link in the process is logistics centers, warehouses and storerooms. Therefore Krasnodar is strongly interested that such storing complexes to be opened in quantities within the city, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
The construction process was also examined by Deputy Head of Krasnodar Alexander Mikheev and Chief of the department of industrial and agricultural development Grigory Slyusarenko.
New warehouse complex of agricultural products is under construction on a section of 17,5 hectares in the suburb of Krasnodar. The area of warehouse itself is almost 7 hectares. It will include 6 blocks and an administration building. The first stage of the construction is supposed to be put into operation in September of this year.
Director of LLC “Complex for processing agricultural products “Kuban gift” Shakhnar Novruzov expanded on capabilities and working principles of the logistics center for processing and storing fruit and vegetables products. According to him, the warehouse complex will be used not only for storing vegetables including those grown by the enterprise itself, but also render a whole range of services as to preparations for sales through distributor networks, including washing, prepackaging, packaging and delivery of finished products to a point-of-sale.
— Consequently, the distance between agricultural production and shop’s shelves will be remarkably reduced. Resellers will be excluded from the chain making the price for fruits and vegetables considerably lower, — Shakhnar Novruzov said.
Warehouses are equipped with central air-conditioning for ensuring optimized temperature condition all around the year as well as machinery for sorting, packing for storage and pre-sale preparation of fruit and vegetable products.
Vladimir Evlanov gave a look over one of warehouses. Together with Shakhnar Novruzov he discussed the way of cooperation of logistics center and Krasnodar agricultural producers, husbandry farms and private subsidiary farmings.
Warehouses director explained that there is enough space in the complex not only to store goods of own production but also to rent out premises for anybody who wants. Besides that, logistics center will take grown fruit and vegetable products from Kuban agricultural producers for further transportation to retail network and shops.
— We are very interested this workflow to be working. Many our farmers complaint that there are problems with sales of grown products. Big trading networks cooperate with small suppliers who make seasonal products unwillingly. As a result locally grown fruits and vegetables frequently do not get to consumers, giving way to foreign-made products. The situation should be totally altered. Such up-to-date complexes as this will certainly facilitate a solution to the problem, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Increase of agricultural production volumes within the region and the necessity to create vegetable storerooms and warehouse complexes were discussed during the session of regional committee on securing of economic sustainable growth and social stability in Krasnodar Region in 2015 chaired by Kuban Governor Alexander Tkachev in the end of February.
