Evgeny Pervyshov congratulated the pupils of Krasnodar on the Day of Knowledge

The Day of Knowledge festive assembly was held at the lyceum No. 48. The Mayor of Krasnodar came to express congratulations to the teachers, schoolchildren and their parents.

"It's a really wonderful day — 90 schools of the city received 126 thousand children to teach — a new record that the capital of Kuban set by the number of schoolchildren. It is the key for our successful future and another proof that Krasnodar is a comfortable place for the life, birth and upbringing of children. And of course, that number of first graders is a great challenge for us in terms of the need to build new educational institutions. Several new schools are already active under construction in the regional capital. I am sure we will fulfill an assignment of the President and the Governor to move all schools to one-shift education," said Evgeny Pervyshov.

As a graduate of the lyceum No. 48, the Mayor of Krasnodar also thanked the teachers for the contribution they had made to the upbringing of the younger generation. Evgeny Pervyshov noted that this day was particularly emotional for the first graders and their parents, as for him when he first stepped across the threshold of the school.

The festive school assembly was also attended by the Minister of Resorts, Tourism and the Olympic Heritage of Krasnodar Region Christopher Konstantinidi, a member of the City Duma of Krasnodar Sergey Fisyuk, representatives of the city's universities.

The lyceum principal,  the honored teacher of Kuban Tatiana Gaiduk congratulated pupils, their parents and the teaching staff on the beginning of a new school year.

"September 1 is the beginning of a new life for the first graders. Welcome to our country of knowledge and discoveries. Let the lessons for you always be interesting, and school friendships be strong. This Day of Knowledge is the last one for graduates. Remember: your fortune is in your hands, now you are laying the foundation for the future victories and achievements. Go for it and you'll be all good," said Tatiana Gaiduk.

After the banner of the lyceum had been brought in, the anthems of Russia, Kuban and Krasnodar were played. Parents and teachers of primary school classes expressed the best wishes and creative collectives delivered musical congratulations to the schoolchildren. The symbolic first call to the beginning of classes was given by first graders Ulyana Moroz and Marianne Svashenko.
