Today the city Head Vladimir Evlanov took part in festivities devoted to opening of sporting and park complex that is situated at the territory of Krasnodar University of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
— For several years Krasnodar citizens looked forward to this day. The park opening is a big gift to citizens of Prikubanskiy urban district, significant event for the whole regional center. Exceptional complex started working with the support of Krasnodar administration. Here citizens and the city guests will be able not only have a rest but also go in for sports, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Beginning from the next week the park will be open to anybody who wants to visit it in weekends and holidays. Subsequently the park complex will join the ranks of municipal parks and will be open all year round.
The opening ceremony was participated by Head of Krasnodar University of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Kalinichenko, chief of the department of transport of MIA of Russia in Southern Federal District Vladimir Strukov, Deputy Head of Krasnodar Sergey Vasin, chief of manpower department of Main Directorate of MIA of Russia in Krasnodar Region Oleg Stoiko, chief of Krasnodar presidential cadet academy Gennady Barkovskiy, multiple world boxing champion Dmitry Pirog, Hero of Labour of Kuban Richard Balyasinskiy, veterans of MIA University, students, cadets, numerous guests.
— Ten years ago by date of 60th anniversary of Victory jointly with Krasnodar administration we decided to establish a big sporting and park complex for students and all citizens. Over the years of work a picturesque park has emerged. It conjoins green area and sports grounds, — Igor Kalinichenko said.
Works in park complex started nearly ten years ago. Its area is 12,5 hectares. Sports complex with a football pitch and stadium which seats 500, volleyball and basketball courts, running tracks 400 meters at length and also facilities complex to go for power relay situate within the territory of the park.
The territory comprises 10 fountains, landscaped imbankment around a basin specially stocked with fish. There are more than 10 thousand trees and bushes here.
Vladimir Evlanov and Igor Kalinichenko went for a walk around parkways, came up to landscaped banking of artificial lake, had a talk with the first visitors of park and negotiated plans for the following development of the territory.
— In the following we will support MIA University to develop this park area. There is no doubt that soon the complex will become the favourite place for recreation of citizens, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
In honour of International Children's Day exhibition performances of MIA University students, football, volleyball, basketball, arm-wrestling, field-and-track, tug-of-war, overcoming of obstacle line competitions were held as part of sporting and park complex opening. There was also a demonstration of weapon and equipment of Russian police.
