Peoples’ Friendship garden square is opened after reconstruction

Today Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov and Chairwoman of the City Duma Vera Galushko opened renewed fountains and had a look at recreated sculpture composition “An Indian boy on an elephant and crocodiles” installed in the square.

— The restored garden square became real adornment of the central part of the city — it looks the same as was expected by people of our city. And now, when all the works have been completed, it is comfortable and pleasant place for whole families to take a walk here and spend time with children, — Vladimir Evlanov said.

The finishing stage of the garden square reconstruction was carried out within a framework of the program “Capital city image to Krasnodar” — old fountains have been reconditioned, slabs paved, landscaping done and garden sofas installed. Totally the finishing stage of the reconstruction counted for 35 million roubles.

The sculpture composition has been casted of a high-strength aluminium alloy in Ural foundries of Yekaterinburg and represents an exact copy of the former sculpture in size and color range. After a boy on an elephant had been mounted on special pedestal near to children’s playground, the origin look of composition became restored.

Vladimir Evlanov and Vera Galushko made photos with children on the background of new sculpture, had a talk with citizens who remembered how this landscaped area looked before and enquired upon their opinions on a renewed look of the garden square. Krasnodar citizens spoke positively.

Then the city’s chief executives gave start to the work of fountains at the entrance to the garden square. The fountain complex has been completely repaired and fitted with a backlight to work during the late evening.

— Citizens highly appreciate the work done here and we will definitely develop other areas of the city, arrange other garden squares and green belts, — Vera Galushko said.

It is to be recalled that on City Day Vladimir Evlanov opened Peoples’ Friendship garden square after completion of the next stage of its reconstruction. At that time a plane fountain, extreme sports-ground and street lighting have been arranged here.
