A demonstration was organized by Krasnodar regional branch of All-Russian political party “United Russia” and regional trade-unions council.
— There is a remarkable emotional atmosphere on a May Day in Krasnodar. May Day demonstration occurs in our city every year and it becomes a tradition for many people to go to the main street of the city in order to take part in the parade, altogether exult at success of their collectives and the city in general. And of course, an excellent humour, sea of balloons, flowers and smiles traditionally become the chief attribute of the festive march, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Festive May Day column paraded down the Krasnaya Street in a section from Lenina to Postovaya Streets. The march started at 10.00. Flags of Russia, Kuban, All-Russian political party “United Russia” and Federation of the Russian independent trade-unions were flied at the outset of the parade.
Chairman of Krasnodar Region Legislative Assembly Vladimir Beketov, first Vice-Governor of Kuban Dzhambulat Khatuov, Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov, Kuban Vice-Governors Nikolay Doluda, Sergey Garkusha and Veniamin Kondratiev, leader of Kuban trade-unions Olimpiada Chumakova and chairwoman of Krasnodar City Duma Vera Galushko headed the festive parade.
Primary column consisted of veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Soviet Union Heroes, Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory, liquidators of Chernobyl disaster, participants of combat actions and local conflicts, deputies of Krasnodar Region Legislative Assembly and Krasnodar City Duma.
Representatives of Krasnodar Region local branch of All-Russian political party “United Russia” went next. They carried a Russian tricolor 13x20 meters in size.
May Day demonstration lasted for three hours at Krasnaya Street. Standing on a platform near to Krasnodar Region Legislative Assembly building Dzhambulat Khatuov, Vladimir Beketov, Vladimir Evlanov, leaders of public organizations, veterans of the Great Patriotic War greeted participants of the festive parade.
Festive parade comprised employees of municipal and regional administrations, urban districts administrations, labour collectives of regional center, pupils and students, sportsmen, representatives of public organizations and Cossacks.
The first time ever a “wedding column” — about three hundred yesterday brides in wedding gowns and bridegrooms joined the ceremonial march.
Bikers from Krasnodar branch of “The Russian motorcyclists” club followed in the rear of the parade. Indeed, it was the first time when they participated in a May Day demonstration.
The holiday continued in parks, garden squares and Kuban Capital institutes of culture all through the day.
