Vice-Governor of Kuban and Head of Krasnodar took part in ceremonial opening of Swim training center and had a look at new sports complex with swimming pools.
— The opening of regional Swim training center is a remarkable and long-awaiting event in sports life of Kuban and Krasnodar. From now on a regular basis the best swimmers of Krasnodar Region and Russian national team will train in up-to-date sports facility. Along with that the new pool is designed not only to professional sportsmen. Serious attention will be paid to the development of mass sport, — Nikolay Doluda said.
The event was participated by Krasnodar Region Minister of physical culture and sports Lyudmila Chernova, Deputy Head of Krasnodar Victor Bondar, distinguished Kuban swimmers, participants and prize-winners of Olympic Games Lyudmila Porubaiko, Danila Izotov, medal winner of Swimming World Cup for people with physical disabilities Alexander Demianenko.
— Now a very important sports facility is functioning in Krasnodar. Sports complex with two swimming pools has been constructed as per typical project, however this is the first swimming facility of such a high class in the capital of Kuban. Fitting out of the complex meets all current requirements including those for holding All-Russian and international tournaments. In its free time the pool will be available to the public. There will be also swimming groups, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Nikolay Doluda and Vladimir Evlanov examined the new complex: its two swimming pools — the main and children’s one, locker rooms, coaching rooms, fitness center and also rooms with equipment for water conditioning and purification. Before water gets into a pool it undergoes filtration, purification and heating for sportsmen’s comfort.
Vice-Governor and Head of the city had a look at training of trainees of Krasnodar’s sports school №6, talked to sportsmen and coaches.
During examining the premises of Swim training center Nikolay Doluda and Vladimir Evlanov deliberated on a matter of further construction of sports facilities in Krasnodar. Another swimming pool is planned to be opened in Yubileinyy microdistrict.
The Swim training center comprises 8 paths pool 25×16 meters in size and 1,8-2,5 meters in depth and 3 paths pool 10×6 m in size and 0,6-0,8 m in depth.
There are 2 electronic displays and a stand for 350 seats around the main pool. At the time of swimming tournaments the number of seats can be increased up to 500.
The construction of Swim training center started in March 2012. The total cost of the work was over 250 million roubles.
