Administration of Krasnodar City held a reception of young footballers from Krasnodar’s sister city Karlsruhe. On behalf of Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov, his deputy Viktor Bondar greeted sportsmen.
— Friendly relations of our cities steadily develop in economy, education, healthcare, culture and sport. Perpetually we exchange delegations, together celebrate holidays, participate in exhibitions and business events. Yet sport plays a special role in the improvement of relations between the cities. I always watch matches of your professional footballers and I think that the young people sitting here today will become pride and glory of Karlsruhe in future, — Viktor Bondar said in his welcoming speech.
He told the meeting attendees about achievements of football teams Krasnodar and Kuban, FC Krasnodar stadium with 36 000 seats which is under construction now, successes of local sportsmen.
The reception was participated by First Deputy Chairman of Krasnodar City Duma Viktor Timofeev, Chief of the department of physical training and sports Andrey Danilov, Deputy Сhief of Administrative Department, Сhief of the Department of foreign relations and protocol of Krasnodar administration Boris Staroselskiy and acting director of youth sports school “Football Academy” Vladimir Usachev.
— We are glad that we have such a close sister city partnership with Karlsruhe. When being in your city we always visit sports schools and view various tournaments. I’m sure that victory of Krasnodar sportsmen in regattas of Karlsruhe became possible also through warm and good-natured atmosphere created in the city. In Krasnodar we’ve prepared an interesting introductory program for you. I hope you will take pleasure and come here again in the future, — Viktor Timofeev said.
Vladimir Usachev told about functioning of Krasnodar “Football Academy”. Now more than 1600 young men aged from 6 to 18 live and train in the academy. 27 trainers and teachers work with them.
Head of German delegation and coach of the team Wolfgang Barnik spoke in response.
— We are happy to be in Krasnodar; this trip is real adventure for footballers of our team. We are looking forward to a friendly match with Krasnodar coevals. I hope that in future our teams will compete internationally, — Wolfgang Barnik said.
17 young footballers and their coaches from the sport association “Siemens” arrived in the capital of Kuban. They will stay here until June 1. On Saturday May 30 German young players will have some friendly matches with trainees of Krasnodar “Football Academy”. Then they will go to All-Russian child center “Orlenok” to train and have a rest until June 6.
In 2012 Krasnodar and Karlsruhe celebrated the 20th anniversary of establishing friendly ties and 15 years of sister city relations. In the recent decade the cities have implemented joint programs in economy, municipal service and facilities, healthcare, education, sport and culture. In 2006 Krasnodar athletes ran in “Baden Marathon”. There was also a friendly Greco-Roman tournament of sportsmen from Krasnodar and Karlsruhe in 2010. Young tennis players of two cities set contacts in 2011. In the past year 2014 Karlsruhe hosted the 9th rowing regatta in the open class. Among 60 collectives Krasnodar team has won the cup and proved sports glory of our city.
