Today at 15:00 high speed drift show as a part of Krasnodar stage of youth patriotic auto tour “Thanks for the Victory” took place at the territory of shopping and entertainment center “OZ Mall”.
— This unique project is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is aimed at the promotion of patriotism among young people and attraction of the rising generation’s attention to heroic events of the past. Speed cars participating in the car run through cities of the country and named in honour of Soviet Union Heroes represent a symbol of courage and heroism displayed by defenders of the Motherland, — the project organizers said during the opening of the auto festival.
Krasnodar is the fourth city visited by patriotic auto tour “Thanks for the Victory!”. Organizers expressed the most profound appreciation to administration of Krasnodar Region, Administration of Krasnodar and “OZ Mall” managerial staff for the assistance in preparation and holding of drift show at the territory of Kuban capital.
In the course of one hour drift show the best drivers and bump artists demonstrated breathtaking driving with sophisticated pirouettes unparalleled neither in Russia, nor abroad.
The drift show was participated by 6 distinguished sports drift cars named in honour of Soviet Union Heroes V. Zaitsev, I. Kozhedub, N. Gastello, D. Lavrinenko, A. Matrosov and A. Pokryshkin.
To music of war time songs sports cars went round and demonstrated controlled skidding. Relevant decoration of the drift show — smokescreen in colours of the Russian tricolour added to unforgettable atmosphere of the event.
When driving performance was over, everyone who wanted could take part in photo and autograph signing sessions.
After that, the auto tour participants went along streets of the city accompanied by the applause and hullos of Krasnodar citizens. The next city to visit is Grozny.
Organizers of the patriotic project are the Russian military-historical society and racing team “Round-X”. The car run participants perform drift shows and various thematic actions in every city they visit. Their route runs through Makhachkala, Volgograd, Saratov, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhniy Novgorod, Voronezh, Belgorod. The action will finish in St. Petersburg on July 11.
The auto tour duration is 66 days; racing team “Round-X” will drive more than 13 thousand kilometers for that time.
Patriotic auto tour has started on May 7 in Leningrad Region. By its end participants will have visited 18 cities of the country.
Drift is the most actively developing discipline of motorsports which is based on control over the car while skidding and is notable for particular dynamism and spectacularity.
