European businessmen offer to conduct economic forum in Krasnodar

An idea of respectable Russian-European forum carrying out in regional center was suggested today by representatives of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) during the meeting with Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov.

— We cooperate with the Association of European Businesses over a number of years and this work benefits significantly. Today we offer representatives of major European companies to take part in realization of the Eastern industrial zone project, joint projects in a sector of fuel and energy, energy saving solutions, development of exhibition activities, — Vladimir Evlanov marked in an opening speech.

The meeting was also attended by AEB Director General Frank Schauff, members of regional committee of the Association, Deputy Head of Krasnodar, director of the department of finances Alexander Mikheev, chiefs of the departments of Krasnodar administration.

In his turn Frank Schauff underlined that the organization has been successfully working in Russia for about 20 year, 10 years in southern Russia. It comprises nearly 600 big companies from the European Union countries. According to him European businessmen remark dynamic development of Krasnodar for the recent years and they are willing to participate in implementation of promising projects.

— We can propose our European collegues your specific projects, and I’m sure that they will be interested in creation of enterprises at the territory of the Eastern industrial zone, — Frank Schauff said.

Besides of that, members of the delegation put forward an idea of carrying out of  Russian-European business forum in Krasnodar in April of this year on the analogy of economic forum “Northern Dimension” held in St. Petersburg.

— We can ask our collegues from sister-cities Karlsruhe, Ferrara and Harbin for participation in this business forum. This will contribute to special status of the event, — Vladimir Evlanov emphasized.

Founded in 1995 the Association of European Businesses (AEB) is an independent nonprofit organization uniting over 600 European and Russian companies. Multinational corporations and enterprises of small and medium business are among members of AEB.

AEB consists of 40 committees and working groups that are engaged in contributing to a wide range of issues in different spheres of business, including energy sector, custom and transport system, air carriage, legislation, taxation, banking and other sectors.

Committees work closely with European and Russian authorities and also provide their comments and revisions to draft plans for a law of the Russian Federation.

There are regional branches of AEB in St. Petersburg and Krasnodar.
