At 30 thematic grounds deployed around Palace of Sports “Olymp” there were exhibition performances of the trainees from Kuban capital sports schools and specialized clubs, master classes by well-known trainers, honoring champions and their coaches on the occasion of their professional holiday.
— This year we’ve decided to change the format of holiday. Instead official reception in Krasnodar City Hall we organize a large-scale festival of physical training and sports, holiday for all people preferring active recreation. We honor champions and their coaches in the presence of several thousands citizens. On this professional holiday we say special words of appreciation to first children coaches, many of whom substituted parents for boys and girls from incomplete families and made champions of them, — acting Head of Krasnodar Alexander Mikheev underlined.
Today Deputy Heads of Krasnodar, Krasnodar City Duma representatives, creative and scientific intellectuals, public came to honor athletes and coaches.
Honoring ceremony with much fanfare started with presenting young champions who had won prizes of World, European and National championships in this year. Bronze medalist of World Judo Championship Margarita Shreiner, sports acrobatics World champion Igor Mishev, Thai boxing Russian champion Kseniya Tarusina, bronze prizewinner of Russian Championship in Greco-Roman wrestling Sergey Chigirev and bronze winner of European Championship Kseniya Lichman climbed onstage one after another.
The main part of sports evening was opened with a warm-up led by famous professional boxer, former World Champion Dmitry Pirog to the fiery music.
Meanwhile, in the open air in a boxing ring exhibition fights were performed. 15 pairs of boxers from fitness and health recreation center “Sport” participated.
Center for the development of sports №3 named after Vitaly Dubko set trampolines on another ground. Accompanied with rapturous glances of spectators gymnasts were flying and demonstrating breathtaking spins airborne.
Head of the city Federation of chess George Kupalyan conducted simultaneous chess display. Within “the chess microdistrict” young players themselves and their friends acted the part of chess pieces in marked out squares.
Very young children were sporting on green ground with pillows of different sizes. Children’s village with pillows was organized by the festival sponsor — SoftPear Company. New parents were demonstrated how to do physical exercises with children since their very birth.
— This year festival comes out broad-scale and bright. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet coaches, express acknowledgements and see friends with whom athletes began Greco-Roman wrestling in youth. This is an opportunity to see the whole sport gamut of our city and its potential, — Deputy Head of Krasnodar Eugene Naumov shared impressions.
In Krasnodar over 70 kinds of sport are being developed and there are more than 1000 sports facilities. In the city nearly 400 thousand people systematically engage in sports and physical recreation.
In Krasnodar there are 47 municipal and regional sporting institutions of children’s additional education, federal and regional schools of Olympic reserve, one of leading institutions of higher education in the country — Kuban State University of Physical Education, Sport and Tourism.
