The results of the municipal program "Development of physical culture and sports" in 2016 and plans for the development of the sphere in the coming year were discussed today at working meeting in the city administration. It was held by Head of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov.
— We have a good dynamics of the sphere. It provides the opportunity for a large number of people to engage in physical culture and sports, lead a healthy life. This year we must not relent. It is necessary to build new sports facilities, expand the sports base of the city, - said Evgeny Pervyshov.
According to information of Chief of the department of physical culture and sports Anatoly Miroshnikov in the last year 46.1% citizens of Krasnodar engaged in physical culture and sports on a regular basis, more than 26% children and teenagers visited sports clubs and sections.
— Following the results of the past year we see the positive trend — number of people who lead a healthy lifestyle increased by 4.5 per cent. One of priority directions of our activity is to attract city dwellers to pass GTO norms. For this reason we create special testing places. Now there are 98 such places in the city, they are mostly located in educational institutions. In the past year over 7 thousand 400 citizens have passed GTO norms, — said Anatoly Miroshnikov.
In the past year Krasnodar hosted about 5 thousand mass sporting and fitness events, which were attended by about 1 million people — more than 400 thousands of them are children and adolescents.
In 2016 two full featured sports grounds were built in Krasnodar — in Starokorsunskaya and Kalinino villages, a ground for extreme sports in Loris hamlet, a gym ground in Starokorsunskaya village, 9 workout zones and 2 skate parks, 2 pullup bar complexes. In summer the city beach with three swimming pools and sports grounds was opened near the Palace of Sports «Olymp». In Karasunskiy urban district a base for sailing was built at the expense of investors.
In 2017 it is planned to construct 4 multi-function sporting grounds. Also authorities hold negotiations with FC Krasnodar about erecting another five children's field houses for the game of football.
