Today ceremonial opening of the city sports festival dedicated to Children's Day took place on the square in front of the Olymp Palace of Sports.

Krasnodar does much to improve the physical health of the rising generation and to create better conditions for sports. I wish you a new sporting victories, a good mood, vivid impressions, and to start every morning with physical jerks! — Chief of the department of physical training and sports of the city administration Anatoly Miroshnikov said.
The First Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of Krasnodar Region Sergey Myasishchev and general manager of the basketball club Lokomotiv Kuban Alexey Savrasenko also attended the festival.
— On June 1, the capital of Kuban widely celebrates Children's Day. Today we open the annual street basketball tournament for the Governor's Cup. I wish all the guys have a bright, interesting summer vacation, new sporting victories and achievements! — Sergey Myasishchev addressed the participants of the sports festival.
Ten sports and entertainment areas were organized at the festival. There were sports cars exhibition, a demonstration training in rafting. Anyone who wished could take an autograph from famous basketball players and participate in the photo session.
In the beach area, three pools have been opened. Water in them is being specially cleaned up by modern means and filters to conform to sanitary regulations and standards.
A recreation area provided with reclining chairs and beach umbrellas was also opened. The festival participants were greeted by the artists of the dance collective "Todos". Sport aerobics masterclasses and dance flash mob were performed.
According to Anatoly Miroshnikov, there are the plans actively to improve the beach. New exercise machines, basketball backboards for street basketball and tennis tables will be installed in the near future. The project for a gradual increasing the number of swimming pools is also being developed.
