He was born on January 1, 1966 in Kremenchug, Poltava region of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic in a family of workers.

In 1983, he graduated from high school and enrolled at Kazan Higher Military Command School of Rocket Forces Engineering, graduating in 1988.
He served in the Armed Forces until 1991.

After retirement he worked as a teacher in the vocational school № 4 in Kremenchug.

In 1992 he moved to Krasnodar. Since 2000 he has been working at «Expo-Centre».

He was a deputy of the Duma of Krasnodar of the fourth, fifth and sixth convocations.

He is married, has two daughters and a grandson.
