Before being drafted into the army in 1989, graduated from the Krasnodar Machine-Tool College, specializing in metal processing machines and automatic lines.

1989 — 1991 — served in the Armed Forces (Airborne Forces).

Sergey v. Martynov started his career in 1988 at the Krasnodar plant «Saturn».

1998 — graduated from Kuban State University with a degree in Jurisprudence and was qualified as a lawyer.

1993 — 2001 — worked in various positions in «Kuban-Hleboproduct» Ltd.

2001 — entered the municipal service in the city administration of Krasnodar, in the Department of Industry, Transport and Entrepreneurship in the Sphere of Production.

2005 — 2009 — worked as chief of the general department of administration of Karasun district of Krasnodar.

March 2009 — deputy director of the department of economic development, investment and external relations of the city administration of Krasnodar

April 2010 — deputy chief of department of placement of the order for municipal needs of the city of Krasnodar

September 2010 — chief of the department of placement of orders for municipal needs of the city administration of Krasnodar

2008 — was awarded the 90th Anniversary Medal of the Trade Union of Employees of State Institutions of Russia for his active involvement in trade union activities.
